How Canada Express Entry Works for Canada PR in 2024

Canada Express System is an electronic online immigration system, that manages the profiles of skilled immigrants, who’ve applied for permanent residency under Federal and certain provisional economic immigration programs.

In 2024, Canada Express Entry remains the key system for securing Permanent Residency (PR) through skilled worker programs. If your skills and experience align with these programs, you create an online profile detailing your education, work history, and language abilities (English or French). This profile is awarded points based on a scoring system, determining your rank in a pool of hopeful immigrants. Immigration authorities hold regular draws, inviting the highest-ranked candidates (based on points) to formally apply for PR. The more points you score, the better your chances of receiving an invitation and eventually becoming a Canadian permanent resident.
