Canada’s immigration Express Entry levels nearly tripled in May 2020

Canada’s immigration Express Entry levels nearly tripled in May 2020 after having fall in March and April.

Canada invited 11,000 immigrants mainly from India, China, the Philippines, the US, and Nigeria in May 2020. Approximately 30,000 applicants officially get permanent residents of Canada.
Immigrants exempt from Canada’s travel restrictions completed their landing process in May for those with a confirmation of permanent residence (COPR) prior to March 18, 2020 are eligible to enter Canada.

According to IRCC data, 3000 arrivals in May through Provincial Nominee Program, more than 2,000 of the new permanent residents under family sponsorship, 1,300 immigrants gained permanent residence as skilled workers, primarily through the Federal Skilled Worker Program and 2,000 gained permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class program.

IRCC has issued 35,100 ITA for permanent residence, for CEC and PNP stream. IRCC invited FSWP last week under Express Entry.

Express Entry draws suggests that IRCC is preparing to welcome even more immigrants from overseas towards the end of 2020 and early 2021.
