Ontario held new Tech Draw under PNP invites Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination

Ontario’s third Tech Draw this year, invited immigration candidates who had work experience in one of six in-demand occupations under the Human Capital Priorities stream.

  • Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)
  • Computer engineers (NOC 2147)
  • Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172)
  • Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
  • Computer programmer and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
  • Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)

1,288 candidates with a CRS score between 463 and 477.

Prince Edward Island invited Express Entry – Issued 194 Invitations

Prince Edward Island invited Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact immigration candidates and issued 194 invitations in two PNP draws in July.

The first draw was held on July 10, and invited 8 Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The draw on July 16, there were 157 candidates invited from the Labour Impact and the Express Entry category. The PEI PNP also invited 29 Business Impact candidates as well. PEI has held two draws since March.

The next draw is scheduled for August 20.

PEI Express Entry Category
Express Entry manages the applications for three economic-class immigration categories :: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Eligible candidates are given a CRS score for their age, work experience, education, and language proficiency in English and French. Express Entry candidates who receive any provincial nomination are given an additional 600 points in their CRS score, and are having highest chance to get an Invitation to Apply ITA for permanent residence in a Express Entry draw.

In order to be considered for a provincial nomination from PEI, Express Entry candidates need to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the PEI system. Candidates in the Labour Impact Category were invited in both rounds this month. This category is for foreign nationals who have a valid job offer in PEI, and have support from their employer.
Business Impact Category

The PEI PNP issued invitations to 29 candidates at the Minimum score of 117. The Work Permit Stream is for entrepreneurs who wish to own and operate a business in PEI.

Canada’s immigration Express Entry levels nearly tripled in May 2020

Canada’s immigration Express Entry levels nearly tripled in May 2020 after having fall in March and April.

Canada invited 11,000 immigrants mainly from India, China, the Philippines, the US, and Nigeria in May 2020. Approximately 30,000 applicants officially get permanent residents of Canada.
Immigrants exempt from Canada’s travel restrictions completed their landing process in May for those with a confirmation of permanent residence (COPR) prior to March 18, 2020 are eligible to enter Canada.

According to IRCC data, 3000 arrivals in May through Provincial Nominee Program, more than 2,000 of the new permanent residents under family sponsorship, 1,300 immigrants gained permanent residence as skilled workers, primarily through the Federal Skilled Worker Program and 2,000 gained permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class program.

IRCC has issued 35,100 ITA for permanent residence, for CEC and PNP stream. IRCC invited FSWP last week under Express Entry.

Express Entry draws suggests that IRCC is preparing to welcome even more immigrants from overseas towards the end of 2020 and early 2021.

Express Entry News: 08th July 2020

First, all-program (FSWP/FSTP/CEC) draw since March 2020 at 478 and issued 3,999 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
It is the 22nd draw of the 2020 year and brings 53,800 total number of ITAs issued this year.

The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary stream of skilled foreign workers, it was in place since 2015 in Canada Immigration system. EE system has Canada’s three federal high-skilled immigration programs — the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Eligible candidates for each program are award points under Express Entry’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), for factors such as age, education, skilled work experience, and English or French proficiency. A job offer is not a mandatory requirement under these categories but surely get additional points to the candidate.

A set number of the highest-scoring candidates are issued an invitation to apply for permanent residence through draws from the EE pool, which take place every two to three weeks.

The Government of Canada has a processing standard of six months for permanent residence applications filed through the Express Entry system which is considered as the fastest process in all stream.

Ontario’s Employer Job Offer (Canada Immigration)

Ontario’s Employer Job Offer: (OINP) In-Demand Skills Stream will re-open on 6th July 2020.

It will feature 13 additional employment positions located outside of the Greater Toronto Area.

The purpose of this stream is to help labour shortages in specific occupations such as in agriculture, construction, trucking and personal support work. Workers can apply to this stream from inside and outside of Canada.

To obtain a provincial nomination ITA under this stream, an immigration candidate must have a valid job offer and meet other eligibility criteria.

The job must fall under one of the following Occupations,

NOC 3413 – nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
NOC 4412 – home support workers and related occupations
NOC 7441 – residential and commercial installers and servicers
NOC 7511 – transport truck drivers
NOC 7521 – heavy equipment operators
NOC 7611 – construction trades helpers and labourers
NOC 8431 – general farm workers
NOC 8432 – nursery and greenhouse workers
NOC 8611 – harvesting labourers
NOC 9462 – industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers and related workers
Expanded occupations :

NOC 9411 – machine operators, mineral and metal processing
NOC 9416 – metalworking and forging machine operators
NOC 9417 – machining tool operators
NOC 9418 – other metal products machine operators
NOC 9421 – chemical plant machine operators
NOC 9422 – plastics processing machine operators
NOC 9437 – woodworking machine operators
NOC 9446 – industrial sewing machine operators

Eligibility requirement:

— Employers have many obligations, they must demonstrate the person they are hiring through this Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) stream is necessary to their business and they must pay them at or above the median wage level for the occupation.

— Immigration candidates must have at least 9 months of cumulative paid full-time work experience in the occupation they have received a job offer for.
— They must also have the equivalent of a Canadian secondary school (high school) education, or higher.
— minimum English or French-language level of a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 4 or higher.
— candidate demonstrating they have a valid license to work in an occupation that requires a license or other authorization in Ontario
