New Canada Work Permit: Innovation Stream Pilot launched that doesn’t require LMIA.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced on April 15th, via the Global Hypergrowth Project, the launch of a new two-year Innovation Stream Pilot.

Certain Canadian businesses will be able to hire highly trained foreign workers on work permits thanks to the new Innovation Stream Pilot, which eliminates the need for an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment).

In addition, family members of these foreign laborers will be qualified for an open work permit, which will let them work in Canada for practically any company.

Unless there are any revisions, the Innovation Stream is slated to run for two years, ending on March 22, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Foreign nationals, whether in Canada or abroad, must have a job offer from one of the participating companies in the Global Hypergrowth Project in order to apply for a work permit under the Innovation Stream Pilot.
2. The IRCC Secure Account must be used by applicants to complete their work permit application.
3. The National Occupational Classification's TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupations must correspond to the employment offer.
4. The wage offer should be at least as high as the local median hourly wage.
5. If there is a collective bargaining agreement in place for the post, the wage offer must also adhere to its criteria.
6. In order to guarantee that wages stay competitive throughout employment, the job offer should also include that the company would assess pay on the first day of work and once a year by January 1.
7. Immigration officials need to be certain that candidates possess the necessary abilities for the position for which they are applying.
