1,654 Invitations to Permanent Residency Were Sent by the New Ontario-OINP Draw

An invitation to apply for permanent residency (PR) was extended to 1,654 profiles on January 19, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) announced.

This was a general round of invites issued through the OINP Foreign Worker stream to profiles with a job offer in any of the TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupations with a score of 50 or higher.

This is the OINP Foreign Worker Stream's first general draw since March 1, 2022. The previous draw, held on January 9, focused on profiles with job offers in any of the 63 skilled trade occupations, 41 healthcare occupations, or 15 tech occupations.

Those who are invited to apply must submit their full application within 14 calendar days of receiving the invitation.

British Columbia holds its second PNP draw in 2024, inviting 193 new immigrants.

More than 193 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency (PR) were sent out on January 16th, 2024, in the first British Columbia PNP draw. Of these, 91 invites were sent out under the Express Entry and BC PNP Skills Immigration streams in a targeted BC PNP draw for 35 tech occupations.

In addition, 53 invites have been sent to profiles that have experience as early childhood educators' assistants or instructors (NOC 42202).

In British Columbia's new category-based draw, only 75 applicants with experience in 25 construction-related occupations were invited. Additionally, 29 profiles created with experience in 39 healthcare-related occupations received invitations to apply for permanent residency.

The cutoff score drops by 4 points across all streams in the tech-targeted draw compared to the previous similar round of invitations on December 19, 2023.

BC PNP Latest Draw 2024

British Columbia on regular basis has selected high-scoring candidates by issuing invitations to them through BC PNP draw who have applied under each category in the PNP that allows them to live and work on a permanent basis.

Candidates who are able to successfully land the provincial nomination are able to apply for PR visas to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. BC provides its residents with a high standard of living and better career growth opportunities. On a yearly basis up to 1,350 skilled workers are invited by the British Columbia province.

These candidates are invited with the help of the BC PNPs nominee programs;

Skilled Worker Category: This category is for foreign workers who have received a legitimate job offer for skilled employment by an eligible employer. Candidates need to have minimum required work experience also.

1) Health Care Professional Category: Under this category, the candidate will need an eligible job offer and several years of experience in the health sectors to apply for Canada PR visa as a nurse, physicians, psychiatric nurses, or associated medical professions.

2) International Post-Graduate, BC Degree Category: For foreigners who have graduated with a master's or doctorate degree at a legitimate education institution within the British Columbia province.

3) International Graduate, Canadian Degree Category: This category is for international students that have graduated from a legitimate and eligible Canadian educational institution in the last two years.

4) Entry-level and Semi-skilled Worker Category: This is for immigrants who wish to apply for certain semi-skilled or entry-level professions in tourism/hospitality, food processing, and long-haul trucking can apply under this sub-category.

Having these many immigration sub-categories under BC PNP gives the immigrants with different skill-sets a way to apply for a Canada PR visa by provincial nomination program (PNPs).

What are the different categories under BC PNP?

British Columbia's provincial nomination program (BC PNP) has the following categories via which they are able to invite the immigrants:

  • Skills Immigration; Skilled Worker
  • Skills Immigration; International Graduate
  • Skills Immigration; Entry-level and Semi-Skilled
  • Express Entry BC; Skilled Worker
  • Express Entry BC; International Graduate

Other than these categories there are two categories that do not require an invitation to apply: HealthCare Professional and International Post-Graduate under Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams.

Latest British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Draws held in 2024.

Following is the overview of the Latest BC PNP draws with the number of candidates who were issued the invitations to apply for provincial nomination programs for the British Columbia province.

In a new PNP draw, Manitoba invites 308 applicants for immigration to Canada.

In a recent draw conducted by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, 308 invitations to apply for immigration to Canada were sent out by Manitoba.

Three MPNP streams issued LAAs for the draw on February 9.

In Manitoba, skilled workers received 221 LAAs, with the lowest-scoring applicants earning 720 points.

Candidates for the International Education Stream obtained 55 LAAs.

A minimum score of 709 was required for the remaining 32 LAAs, which were awarded to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
