Tourist stream (apply in Australia)

This visa stream lets you visit Australia as a tourist, to see family and friends or for purposes other than business or medical treatment.

Documents Required for Australia Visitor Visa

To apply for the Australia Visit Visa, applicants must:

  • Show that they have sufficient funds to cover their trip costs for the duration of their visit
  • Have no criminal record and must comply with all Australian laws
  • Meet all health standards and submit medical records as necessary
  • Show valid documentation and invitation letters from sponsors
  • Meet any other requirements asked for
  • Valid passport
  • Recent passport size colored photographs
  • Confirmed return air tickets
  • Trip itinerary
  • Bank statements for a period of 3 to 6 months
  • Travel insurance
  • Proof of enough funds
  • Invitation letter: If visiting relatives or friends, a letter of invitation from the relative or friend in Australia
  • Hotel booking confirmation

You can only apply online if you are in Australia and:

  • you hold a substantive visa, or
  • your substantive visa ceased within the last 28 days.

Sponsored Family Stream

This visa stream lets people who are sponsored, usually by a family member, come to Australia to visit their family members.

Stay: Up to 12 months

Cost : AUD190.00. They might ask your sponsor to pay a security bond.

Approved Destination Status Stream

This visa stream is for citizens from certain areas of China visiting Australia on a tour organized by an approved travel agent.

Stay :For the period or until the date Australia specify in your grant letter

Frequent Traveller Stream

This visa stream is for citizens of the People's Republic of China who travel often to Australia for business or personal reasons.

Stay :The visa can be granted for up to 10 years. Stay up to 3 months each time you enter.
