Applications For The Canada PGWP Extension 2023 Are Currently Accepted.

PGWP is often only given to an overseas student once they have finished their studies.

On March 17, 2023, however, IRCC Minister Sean Fraser made an interim announcement enabling an 18-month extension for PGWPs that have expired or are about to expire in 2023.

Between April 6, 2023 and May 20, 2023, qualified applicants may submit an online application using their MyCIC accounts or GCKeys with the opt-in option.

Candidates who meet the requirements but do not have this opt-in feature may request an extension till December 2023.

  • PGWP Extend Eligible for 2023

Foreign students are eligible for an extension of 18 months if their post-graduation work permit (PGWP) has recently expired or will do so in 2023.

Also, international students who were granted the 2022 PGWP extension as well as those whose PGWP has already expired in 2023 are both qualified to apply for an additional 18-month work permit.
