Canada Immigration Major Update: New Public Policies of Super Visa and Work Permit holder can apply for Study Program.

On June 29, 2023, IRCC revealed the specifics of a new temporary public policy that had been accelerating the processing of applications for supervisa and visiting visas.

Initially signed by Immigration Minister Sean Fraser on February 28, 2023, this public policy is in effect as of that day and is in effect until December 31, 2023.

This policy is currently only relevant to applications for supervisa or tourist visas submitted on or before January 16, 2023.

A new IRCC policy now permits foreign employees to enroll in Study without authorization.

This new regulation allows temporary foreign employees in Canada with work permits to enrol in study programmes lasting more than six months without requiring a study visa or permission.

Starting on June 27, everybody who has a work permit or whose work permit extension is still in effect must comply with this new temporary measure.

This policy will remain in place for the following three years, or until June 27, 2026.

The maximum length of a study programme for people with work permits has been eliminated by IRCC.
Before, those with work permits had to apply for a study visa or permission in order to enrol in a course that lasted more than six months.
