Canada will hold its first occupation-targeted Express Entry draw for transport Canada jobs, including truck drivers in these week.

According to Immigration Minister Marc Miller, Canada will perform its first occupation-targeted Express Entry draw for transport Canada occupations, including truck drivers, this week.

"As Canada's economy grows, we're dedicated to modernising transit and infrastructure to enable the safe and efficient movement of goods and passengers across the nation," Miller said.

"Category-based selection allows us to accept newcomers with transportation experience to address critical labour gaps and assure the future development of the Canadian transportation sector."

"I eagerly await the arrival of more qualified workers to our country, as their knowledge and expertise will be crucial in meeting our labour market needs."

The details of this draw had not to be announced on Monday, although the immigration minister did confirm that invitations to apply would be addressed to commercial truck drivers, pilots, and aircraft assembly workers (ITA).
