IELTS Academic Scores of 6 in each module are no longer required under SDS Category for CANADA , according to the official IDP-IELTS website.

According to the official IDP IELTS website, applicants for Canada study visas who plan to use SDS no longer need an academic IELTS score of six bands for each module.

Instead, as of August 10, 2023, IELTS Academic will just require an overall score of 6.

For instance, if your combined score is 6, you will be qualified to apply for a Canada study visa through the Student Direct Stream if you have a combined score of 5.5 in Reading and Writing and 6.5 in Speaking and Listening (SDS).

Yet for IELTS scores under General Training, IRCC will want a band score of 6.0 in each module (Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking) (GT).
