Saskatchewan Announces New Pilot Under The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program

The eligible jobs under this pilot will allow for the application of low and entry-level positions, and may require on-the-job training, but are critical for businesses to continue to operate and grow. The sectors with the highest labour demands include health, manufacturing, agriculture, ag-tech, construction, hospitality, and retail. The pilot is scheduled to launch in December 2021.

To be eligible, applicants to the Hard-To-Fill Skills Pilot must:
Have a full-time, permanent offer of employment and SINP job approval letter for an eligible occupation from a registered Saskatchewan employer
Meet a minimum Canadian Official Language proficiency level and
Meet the minimum educational and work experience requirements, which include having at least one year of work experience in the same occupation as the job offer or six-month work experience in that job in Saskatchewan.

A Canadian job offer can get extra points or a PNP invitation.

Applicant can claim extra points in the Express Entry system for having a job offer that meets certain conditions if they are immigrating through the points-based Express Entry system. Applicants can get either 50 or 200 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points for having a Canadian job offer. The more CRS points you have, the better chances of getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.

It is not very often that Express Entry candidates are able to obtain these points. Qualified candidates will get a 50-point award for a job that offers under-skilled occupations.

In order to get 200 points, you need to have a job offer in one of six occupations with Noc 00.

Government of Canada invited 775 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence through-a PNP with a cut-off score of 685.

November 10, 2021

Government of Canada invited 775 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence through-a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) with a cut-off score of 685.

The nomination with PNP awards 600 points in CRS, without the nomination, the lowest-scoring candidate would have had just 85 points.

After COVID 19 pandemic, IRCC has been focusing on admitting immigrants who are already in the country. When the Canadian government closed the border, it also closed the door to people who were approved for permanent residence from outside Canada through other categories. They are processing the applications with the job offer under PNP nominations.
